Maggie Koerth-Baker’s excellent article – Oil spill: Here’s What You Can Do to Help reminded me of the WW2 sentiment of conservation in a time of crisis.
UPDATE:
Hey everyone, I was off at my day job when my poster made it up on BB! (Thanks MKB) Not even around to enjoy it! There was great feedback in the comments, too.
I knew the image was a little rezzy, and from the sound of it, some of you actually PRINTED it. Holy cow.
I uploaded the Apple pages file as a zip, and exported doc and .rtfd files. I could have done it in some other ‘ware but this was the hammer I had.
If anyone wants to remix it or just make it better, it’s all yours.

As I said on the poster, the image is not mine, but is CC 2.0 licensed. If you do make art from it, be sure to credit Igor Golubenkov!
***end update***
Oil spills happen year after year, all over the globe. As I scouted for creative commons images, I came up on this one by Igor Golubenkov. This photo’s from 2007 after a spill in the Black Sea.
I riffed on the WWII poster a little, with an aim not to conserve oil, but to eliminate its use through personal action.
It needs a little something – I feel like it’s not quite there; I reserve no rights. Do with it as you will. Feel free to download the killer oil pdf.

Nice job. Thanks for making this poster. With sidewalks and time, plain old walking isn’t such a bad way to get around, either.
Wonderful!
This is going on the dash of my old Ford. I already practice limited driving, but this will inspire me further. Thank you for your efforts.
